Broubster


Highland

A small settlement of Caithness district, Highland Council Area, Broubster lies on the Forss Water, 5½ miles (9 km) south of Lybster and a mile (1.5 km) west of Loch Calder. The ruined remains of a larger settlement lies to the south, along with several hut circles. The Broubster Leans, or Leans of Achaeter, to the east is an area of transition mire and quaking bog considered to be one of the best of its kind in the United Kingdom.
