Carlungie Souterrain

Carlungie Souterrain

A location to the north of the Dundee-Arbroath road in southeast Angus, Carlungie is noted for its L-shaped underground souterrain which dates from the 1st-2nd centuries AD. Discovered in 1949, it was excavated by F. T. Wainwright between 1950 and 1951.
