A small roadside village on the north bank of the River Don in Strathdon, Aberdeenshire, Forbestown lies just opposite Strathdon and to the east of Bellabeg, venue for the annual Lonach Highland Gathering and Games. The village was founded by the Forbes family, one of whom, Sir Charles Forbes, is commemorated by a huge cairn erected on Lonach Hill to celebrate his elevation to a baronetcy.
