Buchlyvie
Stirling

A village in Stirling Council Area, Buchlyvie lies 15 miles (24 km) west of Stirling and 2 miles (3 km) south of the River Forth. Now bypassed by the main road to Loch Lomond, Buchlyvie was in the 18th Century a minor industrial settlement situated on a military road. Designated a burgh of barony in 1672, it became a railway junction in 1882 but the railways closed in 1959. The village comprises a single wide main street with 18th / 19th-century cottages.
