An East Lothian hamlet and farm lying just to the east of East Linton, known for its historic doo'cot, now in the hands of the National Trust for Scotland. It was here that engineer John Rennie (1761 - 1821) was born and his mentor Andrew Meikle (1719 - 1811), mill-wright and inventor of the threshing machine, had his workshop. Rennie's elder brother, George (1749 - 1828), was well-known for many innovations in farming practice and extended the 18th Century Phantassie farmhouse in 1820.
