Drip

Stirling

A location in Stirling Council Area, 2¼ miles (3.5 km) northwest of Stirling city centre, Drip comprises the farms of West Drip, Dripend and Hill of Drip, all of which lie on the reclaimed Drip Moss. The five-arched Old Drip Bridge over the River Forth dates from 1790, with a tollhouse built in 1820. The A84 Trunk Road is now routed over a modern bridge to the north, with the Stirling Agricultural Centre beyond. The road heading southeastwards to Stirling is known as the Drip Road. To the northeast, within a meander in the Forth where it is joined by the River Teith, the Drip Bridge Army Training Camp was demolished in 2004 and replaced by a garden centre and travellers' encampment.
