Covesea

Moray

The resort settlement of Covesea with its Silver Sands Leisure Park is located on the northern coast of Moray, 3 miles (5 km) west of Lossiemouth and 3 miles (5 km) east of Burghead. A Stevenson lighthouse dating from 1846 warns mariners of the Covesea Skerries, a dangerous group of small islands and rocks, which lie directly off the coast. Stone quarried nearby was used to build St. Machar's Cathedral in Aberdeen.
