Clyth


Highland

A locality in E Caithness in Highland Council Area, Clyth lies between the sea and the moorland interior to the east of Lybster, 8 miles (13 km) southwest of Wick. Upper Clyth, West Clyth, East Clyth, the Hill of Clyth, Clyth Mains and Clyth Shore are all associated settlements lying to the west of Clyth Ness. Clythness lighthouse was built by D.A. Stevenson in 1916 and nearby there are the remains of a 19th-century fish store and curing house. The Hill of Clyth rises to 164m / 538 feet to the north of Mid Clyth, with the Newlands of Clyth to the west.
