Auchterhouse
Angus

A hamlet in a parish of the same name in Angus, Auchterhouse sits on the south-facing slopes of the Sidlaw Hills, 5 miles (8 km) northwest of Dundee. The 17th-century tower-house of Auchterhouse, which was a possession of the Ogilvies and then, in the late 20th century, the Mansion House Hotel, stands close to an earlier structure known as the Wallace Tower.

Auchterhouse Country Sports, a centre for shooting, fishing and archery, lies a mile (1.5 km) to the northwest and the Kirkton of Auchterhouse is located a similar distance to the east.
