Lying on a steep southeastern slopes of Wester Hill, overlooking the confluence of the Gala Water with the River Tweed, Langlee is a suburb of Galashiels and comprises a large and depressing public housing development. Langlee House (1860), whose estate it occupies, has long been demolished. Melrose lies 2½ miles (4 km) to the southeast.
