Kilcreggan
Argyll and Bute

Situated at the southern end of the Rosneath peninsula, between the Holy Loch and Loch Long, the settlement of Kilcreggan has since the mid 19th century developed as a small holiday resort accessible from Glasgow via the Clyde port of Gourock. Three miles (5 km) northwest of the town is Knockderry Castle which stands over the dungeons of an ancient tower, and is associated with Knock Dunder in Sir Walter Scott's "The Heart of Midlothian".
