Glensanda

Highland

An isolated location at the mouth of Glen Sanda in the Kingairloch district of the southeastern coast of the Morvern peninsula, Glensanda lies 9 miles (14 km) east of Lochaline and 9½ miles (15 km) south of Strontian. Glensanda Castle is a small late-15th century keep, one of the remotest in Scotland. There is a landing strip here used by the operators of the immense Glensanda Quarry located to the northeast, which also accommodates its workers in the vicinity. A jetty to the northeast allow the berthing of ocean-going ships which transport the quarried stone across the world, while a small harbour is used by small craft and a private ferry bringing staff and supplies.
