Brims

Orkney

A scattered settlement on the south coast of the island of Hoy in Orkney, Brims is located 9 miles (15 km) northeast of Dunnet Head. The Longhope lifeboat station was once located here. The original shed was built in 1874 next to the isthmus which connects Hoy to the South Walls peninsula and permitted lifeboats to be launched either into Longhope to the north or Aith Voe to the south. A new station was built further south in 1906 which served until 1999 and is now the Longhope Lifeboat Museum.
