West Burrafirth

Shetland

A small settlement with a harbour on the north coast of the Walls Peninsula in the West Mainland of Shetland, West Burrafirth lies at the head of an inlet also called West Burra Firth, 5½ miles (9 km) west of Aith. Shetland Islands Council operates a vehicle ferry from a pier here, which was built in the 1980s, to provide a connection with the island of Papa Stour. The ferry terminal comprises a waiting room and public toilets. The Broch of West Burrafirth is located on the Holm of Hebrista a quarter-mile (0.4 km) to the north.
