Jamestown


West Dunbartonshire

Located on the River Leven a half-mile (1 km) south of Balloch, the settlement of Jamestown forms part of the Alexandria conurbation in the Vale of Leven (West Dunbartonshire). Once known as Damhead, the village grew rapidly from the late 18th century in conjunction with a dyeing and textile printing industry. Dumbarton lies 4 miles (6 km) to the south.
