Ardveenish (Àird Mhidhinis)
Western IslesA small settlement on the east coast of Barra in the Outer Hebrides, Ardveenish (Gael: Aird Mhidhinis) lies on the northern shore of Bay Hirivagh, a half-mile (1 km) east northeast of Northbay and 4¼ miles (7 km) northeast of Castlebay. Ardveenish has a pier for fishing boats. A sizeable shellfish-processing factory and the small Barra Power Station are located here.
