Balmaha
Stirling
A settlement in west Stirling Council Area, Balmaha is situated at the southeast end of Loch Lomond, 4 miles (6 km) west of Drymen. It is a centre of tourism, yachting, farming and forestry, and lies within the Loch Lomond Scenic Area. From here the West Highland Way heads northwards up the eastern side of Loch Lomond through the Pass of Balmaha to Rowardennan. Strathcashel Point to the north contains the remains of an ancient enclosure and a crannog or Iron Age lake dwelling lies just offshore. Garadhban Forest lies immediately to the north on the slopes of Conic Hill.
