A crofting community in SW South Uist in the Outer Hebrides, Askernish (Gael: Aisgernis) lies around Loch an Eilein, 2 miles (3 km) north northwest of Daliburgh and 4 miles (6.5 km) northwest of Lochboisdale. A 9-hole golf course on the machair here was designed in 1892 by Old TomMorris (1821 - 1908).
