Drymen
Stirling

A village of Strathendrick in Stirling Council Area, Drymen lies 3 miles (5 km) east of the southeast corner of Loch Lomond, just north of the Endrick Water and 20 miles (32 km) north of Glasgow. The village was enhanced in the 1640s with the arrival of the Grahams of Montrose who built Buchanan Castle to the west. Further development took place following the construction of the military road from Stirling to Dumbarton in the 18th century. The parish church dates from 1771 and the village has two golf courses. The Scottish dramatist James Bridie lived in Drymen.
