Ecclesiamagirdle (Eglismagirdle, Exmagriddle)
Perth and Kinross

A peculiarly-named location in Strathearn, Perth and Kinross, Ecclesiamagirdle (once Eglismagirdle or Exmagriddle) lies in the shadow of the northern slopes of the Ochil Hills 2 miles (3 km) southeast of Forgandenny and a similar distance southwest of Bridge of Earn. It derives its name from the now ruined chapel of St. Grill or Grillan, one of St Columba's harpists. Close by are a small loch, a doocot and Ecclesiamagirdle House which was built in 1648.
