Hyvot's Bank

The site of an old mill and settlement on the Burdiehouse Burn in S Edinburgh, 4½ miles (7 km) south of the city centre, Hyvot's Bank has grown into a suburb with the building of post-war public housing. In 2006, private housing has been inserted into the narrow strip which was Hyvot's Bank Valley Park, which follows the line of the former Gilmerton Limestone Quarries and separates the area from Gilmerton Dykes.
