An location in the Ettrick Forest of the SW Scottish Borders, Gamescleuch lies a half-mile (1 km) east of Ettrick and 13 miles (22 km) west of Hawick. The Gamescleuch Burn flows northwest into the Ettrick Water and Gamescleuch Hill rises to 454m (1489 feet) to the east. The ruined 16th-century Gamescleuch Tower was a property of the Scotts.
