Soval (Shubaill, Sobhal, Sobhail, Shobhail)
Western IslesA location and estate in the Lochs district of E Lewis (Outer Hebrides), Soval (also Sobhal and once Shubaill, Gael: Sobhail or Shobhail) lies 2 miles (3 km) north northeast of Laxay and 7 miles (11 km) southwest of Stornoway. The location comprises Soval Lodge and Loch Soval, both on the side of the A 859 road, together with the summits of Cnoc Mor Shobhail (132m / 433 feet) and Cairn Sobhail (129m / 423 feet). There was a Royal Air Force station here 1941-42.
