A location in the SE Scottish Borders, Wooden lies to the southeast of Eckford and 5 miles (8 km) northeast of Jedburgh. The location comprises the farms of Wester, Easter and Upper Wooden, together with Wooden Hill and the Wooden Burn, which descends through the Wooden Glen to spill into the Teviot a quarter-mile (0.5 km) west southwest of Eckford.
There is also a Wooden House and Wooden Mill located 5½ miles (9 km) to the north northeast opposite Kelso.
