A small scattered settlement in NE Dumfries and Galloway, Cadgill lies a half-mile (1 km) northeast of Chapelknowe. Cadgill Bridge conveys the B6357 road across the Cadgill Burn while, to the south, is an area of wetland called Cadgill Flow. To the north, the Cadgill Cursus comprises two parallel ancient earthworks 140m / 459 feet in length.
