Kilmahew

Argyll and Bute

A small settlement and former estate lying a mile (1.5 km) to the north northeast of Cardross in Argyll and Bute. The settlement comprises a few cottages clustered around Kilmahew Farm on the right bank of the Kilmahew Burn. On the opposite bank, nearer Cardross, is the Baronial-style Kilmahew House which latterly formed part of the St. Peter's Seminary, but was demolished in 1995. What remains of the seminary and estate are owned by the Roman Catholic Church. Kirkton (of Kilmahew) lies a half-mile (1 km) to the west.
