The "Stone of Destiny", Scotland's Coronation Stone, was returned from London to Edinburgh Castle, 700 years after being stolen by Edward I. The stone was kept in Westminster Abbey (London) and became part of the ritual of English then British coronations. Stolen by nationalist protesters in 1950, the stone was recovered in Arbroath Abbey, but doubt remains as to whether this was the real stone.
