Rose Tartan

Originally a Norman family who came to Scotland in the early 13th Century. Soon after they acquired the lands of Kilravock (near Nairn) by marriage and built a castle there around 1460.

The Roses are associated with the Bissets, who founded the Priory at Beauly in 1232.
