Slate Islands Heritage Centre

(Ellenabeich Heritage Centre)

Located in the former slate-mining village of Ellenabeich on Seil Island (Argyll and Bute), the Slate Islands Heritage Centre (also known Ellenabeich Heritage Centre) is run by the Scottish Slate Islands Trust. Opened in 2000, the centre is located in a former slate quarry-worker's cottage and provides general information on the area, together with displays on life in the 19th C., slate quarrying and the local flora, fauna and geology. The centre also holds a range of family history records.

The Slate Islands Heritage Centre is run in close association with the museum on the neighbouring island of Easdale.
