Ebrie Burn

A small river which flows between the Buchan and Formartine districts of Aberdeenshire, the Ebrie Burn forms from drainage ditches to the northwest of Ebrie Head, in the rolling hills 1¼ miles (2 km) south of Maud. It flows southeast passing to the west of Nethermuir and then south, collecting numerous other streams and field-drains along the way, passing farms at Cairncummer and Crowniehillock and the village of Auchnagatt, the Mill of Elrick and the Mill of Towie, Drumwhindle and Inverebrie to fall into the River Ythan at Bridgefoot, 2 miles (3 km) northwest of Ellon. It travels a course of 8½ miles (14 km) and the Formartine & Buchan Way runs alongside for 5 miles (8 km) of that course, following the route of the former Formartine & Buchan railway.
