Dundonald Castle

A ruined fortress, little of which survives, the site of Dundonald Castle thought to be at Killean on the west coast of the Kintyre peninsula (Argyll and Bute). It was a stronghold of the MacDonald, Lords of the Isles, but later passed to the Campbells.
