Aird Ranish

(Aird Raerinish, Aird Ranais, Àird Raerinis)

A bulbous peninsula on the east coast of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, Aird Ranish (also Aird Raerinish, Gael: Aird Ranais or Aird Raerinis) lies between Loch Grimshader to the north and Loch Leurbost to the south. The settlements of Ranish and Crossbost lie across the narrow neck of the peninsula, which terminates at Ranish Point. Numerous small lochans are to be found here.
