Gleddoch House Hotel

A hotel perched above Langbank (Renfrewshire), Gleddoch House lies 3 miles (5 km) east southeast of Port Glasgow. Overlooking the Firth of Clyde, this country house was built in the Edwardian style as a home by Sir James Lithgow (1883 - 1952) the shipbuilding magnate. The house was converted to a hotel in 1974 and sits amongst 145 ha (360 acres) of parkland, which includes an 18-hole golf course. The hotel was substantially damaged by a fire in 2004.
