Floday

(Flodaigh)

An uninhabited island of the Outer Hebrides, Floday (Gael: Flodaigh) is located in West Loch Roag, to the west of Vuia Beg, a mile (1.5 km) southeast of Uigen (Lewis). The island rises to 48m (157 feet) to the northeast. It was inhabited until the population was cleared for sheep in 1827. There are several fish-farms moored around its shores.

Another island named Floday lies 5 miles (8 km) to the north northeast.
