Stornoway Golf Course

The only 18-hole golf course in the Outer Hebrides, the Stornoway golf course is located in Lady Lever Park, a half-mile (1 km) northwest of Stornoway town centre. The Stornoway Golf Club established its course on the site of what is now Stornoway Airport in 1890. In 1947, it was moved to its current location within the grounds of the Lews Castle with the help of compensation from the Air Ministry who had requisitioned the original course in 1939. The course today extends to 5252 yards (5743m) and hosts the annual Western Isles Open Amateur Championship each July.
