A garden suburb of Glasgow's East End, Garrowhill lies 4½ miles (7 km) from the city centre, between Barlanark and Crosshill, to the south of the A8 road. It was developed from 1934 around the site of the former Garrowhill House. It is served by a primary school (dating from 1939) and a railway station.
