An affluent residential suburb of Glasgow, Dumbreck lies 2 miles (3 km) to the southwest of the city centre, bordered by the M77 to the west and Pollokshields to the east. It is believed the name comes from the Gaelic Dunbreac meaning "hill speckled with daisies".
