Prince's Cave

(Uamh a' Phrionnsa)

A cave in Glen Corodale on the remote east coast of the island of South Uist in the Outer Hebrides, the Prince's Cave (Gael: Uamh a' Phrionnsa) is said to have sheltered Prince Charles Edward Stuart (1720-88) in May 1746 after his escape from the mainland following his bloody defeat at the Battle of Culloden.
