Glen Hellisdale


(Gleann Heileasdail, Gleann Sheileasdail)

A valley on the remote east coast of the island of South Uist in the Outer Hebrides, Glen Hellisdale (Gael: Gleann Heileasdail, sometimes Gleann Sheileasdail) lies a mile (1.5 km) east of Beinn Mhor, the island's highest mountain. The valley extends southeast from the Hellisdale Pass (Bealach Heileasdail) for 1¼ miles (2 km) to Corodale Bay. It contains Abhainn Hellisdale and the small Loch Hellisdale.
