Sanday Airport

Sanday Airport lies in the centre of the Orkney island of Sanday, between the settlements of Broughtown and Lady. Opened in 1967, it is operated by Orkney Islands Council and has the International Air Transport Association (IATA) location code "NDY". The airport comprises three intersecting runways; one of gravel extending to 467m (1532 feet) and two of grass at 426m (1397 feet) and 386m (1266 feet) respectively. An earlier airfield operated at Lop Ness between 1934 and 1946, latterly used by the Royal Air Force.
