An extensive tract of mud and sand within the inner section of Wigtown Bay in Dumfries and Galloway, the Baldoon Sands extend south from the influx of River Bladnoch, a half-mile (1 km) east of Wigtown, to Jultock Point, 2 miles (3 km) north northeast of Garlieston. The sands cover an area of 9½ sq. miles / 15.5 sq. km and extend more than 2 miles (3 km) from the shore, to the West Channel of the River Cree.
