A physiographic district surrounding Loch Morar in the West Highlands, Morar consists of North Morar and South Morar. North Morar comprises a narrow tract of land to the east of Mallaig, between Loch Morar and Loch Nevis. South Morar lies to the east of Arisaig. The settlement of Morar lies between Loch Morar and the coast. The White Sands of Morar is the collective name for the picturesque beaches here, which formed a location for the films Local Hero (1983), Highlander (1986) and Rob Roy (1995).
