Dean Bridge

Linking Queensferry Road and Queensferry Street to the northwest of Edinburgh city centre, the impressive sandstone Dean Bridge was designed by Thomas Telford (1757 - 1834) and built by John Gibb (1776 - 1850) in 1832. It carries a road 32m (106 feet) above the steep valley of the Water of Leith and is 136m (447 feet) in length.

An earlier design for a bridge had been produced by artist Alexander Nasmyth (1758 - 1840).
