Peniel Heugh

A hill in the SE Scottish Borders, Peniel Heugh rises to 237m (777 feet) to the north of Monteviot House, 1¼ miles (2 km) west northwest of Nisbet and 3¾ miles (6 km) of Jedburgh. The Waterloo Monument (1824) is a notable landmark located close to the summit, which is also the site of an early Dark Age (post-Roman) nuclear fort.
