A loch of S Aberdeenshire, Dubh Loch lies close to the boundary with Angus between White Mounth and Broad Cairn, 2 miles (3 km) west of Loch Muick, to which it is connected by the Allt an Dubh-loch. During a visit here on 16th Sep 1852, Queen Victoria received the confirmation of the death of the Duke of Wellington at the age of 83.
