Loch a' Bhaile-Mhargaidh


(Loch' a Bhaile-Mhargaidh, Market Loch)

A loch in the S of the island of Jura, Argyll and Bute, Loch a' Bhaile-Mhargaidh lies between Dubh Bheinn and Brat Bheinn, 2 miles (3 km) west of Craighouse. Extending to 20.5 ha (50.8 acres), the loch lies at a height of 235m (770 feet) nd is the source of water for the Isle of Jura Distillery. The name is anglicised to Market Loch by the distillery.
