Loch Ettrick

A small reservoir within the Forest of Ae in NE Dumfries and Galloway, Loch Ettrick is situated 3 miles (5 km) east northeast of Closeburn and 4½ miles (7 km) east southeast of Thornhill. It is retained by an embankment dam to the southwest and extends to 7.2 ha (17.8 acres). The loch is stocked with rainbow and blue trout to support a recreational fishery.
