Loch Hosta

A small oval loch in the northwest of North Uist in the Outer Hebrides, Loch Hosta lies close to the roadside between the settlements of Hosta and Balmartin. It measures a half-mile (0.8 km) in length by a quarter-mile (0.4 km) wide, extending to 23.6 ha (58 acres) and attaining a maximum depth of 9.4m (31 feet). It is drained by the Abhainn an Riadhain to the sea at Raikinish.
