A small reservoir with an earth embankment dam in West Dunbartonshire, Carman is located a half-mile (1 km) west of Renton and 2½ miles (4 km) east northeast of Cardross (Argyll and Bute). It is operated by Scottish Water for the supply of drinking-water and covers an area of 7.5 ha (18 acres).
