Sgorr Dhearg

A triangular peak in Appin (Highland) rising to a height of 1024m (3360 feet) southwest of Ballachulish. It forms the eastern part of the Beinn a' Bheithir range with Sgorr Dhonuill and qualifies as a Munro. There is an Ordnance Survey triangulation pillar at its summit. Above the tree line the landscape consists of a number of pink quartzite boulders which probably gave rise to its Gaelic name which can be translated as "red peak".
